Publicis North America CEO Andrew Bruce announced the agency’s return to the Publicis New York name for the network’s flagship office at the Summer All-Agency party Tuesday evening. The new name is just one of many exciting changes at Publicis North America over the last year and a half, including several top-level hires, a redesign of the logo and the addition of new capabilities in digital, social and analytics.
Linda Kaplan Thaler, who lent her name to the agency when Publicis merged with Kaplan Thaler in 2012 and will stay on as Chairman, said she was proud of the evolution of the agency.
“This is an exciting new era at Publicis, with New York at the very center.” she said. “I could not imagine a better salute to what we have all created together here in New York than to have our office carry forward the flagship banner under the global brand name and identity.”
Bruce also introduced newly-appointed CCO Andy Bird, who will transition from his current role as Executive Creative Director at Publicis London and join Publicis New York full-time beginning in September. Bird took a moment to celebrate the agency’s four wins at the Cannes Lions festival and Publicis Worldwide’s appointment as the new creative lead agency for Heineken.
