TORONTO, ON (June 2, 2015)—Publicis Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Murray as VP, Creative Director on the Rogers account. Michael is an award winning creative director who has been recognized internationally at award shows such as Cannes, One Show, Clios, Communication Arts and London International, among others, for his work on AXE, Viagra, Ikea, Toronto Tourism, Licensed to Learn and Nokia. He has worked in the UK, as well as Toronto shops Crispin Porter and Taxi.
“Beyond Michael’s creative track record and many accolades, what impressed us about him was that he is a business thinker first,” says Bryan Kane, President of Publicis Toronto. “The Rogers brand is evolving and it is a huge opportunity for someone with his credentials to do truly transformative work.”
“What makes Michael unique is how he immerses himself in the customer experience and builds ideas based on behavioural insights, which result in campaign ecosystems that influence all facets of the brand,” Kane added.
In a previous role as the ECD of Blammo, Michael partnered with now VP, Client Partner of the Rogers business, Christine McNab. There they worked on the Orville Redenbacher’s, Del Monte, LCBO and GlaxoSmithKline accounts.
“It’s an amazing opportunity. Rogers is more than an iconic brand, it’s integral to our lives,” says Murray. “I am looking forward to working with the team to deliver truly innovative work for the brand.”
This is one of the many hires Publicis North America has made to bolster their creative offering and expertise. Most recently, Scott Pinkney also joined as the ECD of CRM at Publicis Hawkeye.
