NEW YORK, NY (June 10, 2014) – Publicis Kaplan Thaler shortlisted for an award for the Anti Defamation League’s film “Imagine a World Without Hate” in the Public Service Announcement category at the AICP Awards. The Art & Technique of the American Commercial Awards honor the craft and technique of advertising and marketing communications in the moving image across all channels. This is a great accomplishment as finalists are annually archived by the Department of Film at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
After a smashing debut in 2013, AICP Week is back in 2014 and will be bigger and better. From June 10-12, the industry will flock to New York City, where advertising takes center stage for three days, where the best work and brightest minds will be honored, ideas will flow and celebration will reign. As with last year, AICP Week will be headlined by the debut of the 2014 AICP Next Awards on June 10th, The Directors Lecture Series on June 11th, and finally the premier of the AICP Show: The Art & Technique of the American Commercial at the Museum of Modern Art on June 12th.
This year will mark the debut of AICP Base Camp, which will serve as a do-all gathering place for AICP Week guests at 201 Mulberry Street in Downtown Manhattan. Ticketholders can stop by anytime at the downtown Base Camp location for all things AICP Week, including ticket pick-up, a quick cup of coffee while charging your phone, a chance to meet with your peers in one of several lounge areas, and a series of discussions revolving around the work being honored as well as the industry at large.
AICP Week, which launched in 2013, is anchored by the premieres of the AICP Show and the AICP Next Awards, as well as educational seminars and events highlighting creativity and marketing.
The AICP Show, established in 1992, is the most important advertising showcase in the U.S. Each year, the best advertising appearing in the moving image is honored and made part of the archive of the Department of Film at MoMA. The AICP Next Awards, launched in 2007, highlights the winners of the eight Next categories, which honor innovative marketing communications. The AICP Next Awards are also archived at MoMA. The AICP Next Awards will debut on June 10th at New York University’s Skirball Theater, and the AICP Show premieres during a screening and gala at The Museum of Modern Art in New York on June 12th.
